Course Description

(Prerequisite: Addiction Counseling Skills)

Group therapy is a powerful tool in delivering addiction treatment services, as individuals working on or in recovery provide support to one another. The training will assist the aspiring addiction counselor to understand models of effective group process, the use of group therapy, and be able to demonstrate the skills necessary to facilitate a group.

Time/Duration: The Hybrid section begins with 1 week of online training with assignments and forums which must be completed in order for the student to attend Virtual skill practice section as well as where students take the final exam and course evaluation. Enrolled students will receive online classroom login/password the day prior to class start date.

Virtual class meets online via Zoom from 8:30 – 5:00.( 14 hours) for 2 consecutive days.

Access: must download free Zoom application and video capable phone, laptop or desktop.
