To help you pass the National Certification Exams, Odyssey Center is offering national exam prep courses coming this July. We are offering a prep course for both the National Certified Addiction Counselor I & II (NCAC) and Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) exam.
Meet your exam prep instructors:
All of the exam prep classes are taught by our expert instructors Thea Wessel, LAC, LPC, MAC, NCAAC, and Gary Wareham, LPC, LAC. Both Thea and Gary have decades of experience working with those struggling with addiction and training the best counselors in the field. Thea is a member of the Colorado Association of Addiction Professionals and is an expert in working with juvenile and adult men and women involved in the criminal justice system. Gary is the founder of Inner Courage Counseling and has taught nationally to clinicians, health care providers, supervisors and other trainers.
Why addiction counseling?
If you’re not yet a certified addiction counselor, there’s never been a better time to jump into this dynamic field. Addiction is on the rise, especially as our country fights a major battle with opioids. In fact, in 2014, nearly 21.5 million American adults battled a substance abuse problem, and 7 million battled a drug disorder. The demand for substance abuse counselors is predicted to rise by at least 20 percent over the next eight years, which is much faster than average for all professions.
